About Me
As a parent, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to communicate with teenagers, especially when perspectives don’t always align. My journey changed when I began working with a skilled Transactional Analysis (TA) therapist. With their guidance, I learned practical strategies for more effective communication and found constructive ways to express and address my needs. These tools not only helped me connect with my children but also encouraged me to question my own assumptions about parenting, embracing a more present - centred approach.
During this time I also enrolled for my Masters degree in Psychology followed by a Masters degree in Counselling while undergoing training in Transactional Analysis. Combined with hands-on experience gained from placements, this allowed for a more grounded understanding of the unique pressures faced within familial relationships. This helped me fully realise that my goal was to help others with the same practical tools and compassionate guidance that once helped me. When equipped with the most optimal tools and support, parents feel empowered to create positive, long-term changes not only within their family but also towards their wider communities.
This led me on the path of not just offering individual therapy sessions but also creating workshops for parents. Parents learn the fundamentals of Transactional Analysis that could act as tools in their journey of parenthood. Workshops also offer safe spaces for parents to reflect and explore alongside others who are walking the same path as them.
